Development of an open, customizable communication box for vehicular applications

In this master’s degree thesis it is described the procedure for the development of an open, customizable communication box for vehicular applications. This project saw as first step the installation of an open-source Linux based operating system targeting embedded devices called OpenWrt. This operating system is based on packages and it included the installation of all of the packages needed to allow the full exploitation of the hardware characteristics. Moreover, the application vanetza and all of the dependencies has been compiled and build in order to be available on the on board unit.
