Abstract
The passive and vernacular techniques in architecture are known for their excellent thermal behaviour, low environmental impact, and their cultural value. In general, the projects that have been developed with vernacular technologies remains in rural or low-density environments solving important problematics for each context, but if the goal of the architecture for the sustainability is to contribute in a good way to the climate change, why not to focused on the big cities where are produced the most robust impacts, at least in architectural field? So, the main question is Which are the possibilities of creating a project with a big impact in a high-density city? The technologies are good enough to supply the requirements that an architectural project of that type asks for? The urban population is going to appreciate the technics as a cultural heritage? That is why these thesis is going to evaluate the possibilities to use vernacular or mixed technologies into a scholar project in Bogotá.
