Abstract
The installed PV capacity is growing fast worldwide and it is forecasted that will continue to grow considerably. In addition to this, home battery systems have been improved in the last years and this created high expectation in the sector, since their introduction could make the PV even more profitable for domestic use. Analysing a database containing historical data of 19 households in Germany, equipped with these two technologies, indicators of their profitability are calculated and discussed to better understand the potentialities of these systems and to assess if they are already economically viable or not. Results obtained (the software Python is the main tool used) seem to be in accordance with mostly of the studies present in literature.
In particular, it emerged that the price of the battery is still high so it does not look economic viable to equip the small PV systems with this kind of storage
