Abstract
Digital Twin paradigm is transforming real estate asset management by providing digital models that accurately represent the physical condition of a real estate asset by using dynamic data. The usefulness of such systems, however, is heavily reliant on the ability to seamlessly process vast quantities of data from IoT devices and complex geometric and informative models, including those based on Building Information Modeling (BIM). This thesis project introduces design and development of an end-to-end Digital Twin platform specific to the field of Facility Management and Real Time Building Monitoring. The architecture of the system involves embedding the Twinit platform into the backend and creating the user interface and data visualization using React.js for the front end.
Real-world sensor data was not available during the development and validation process; to address this, a dedicated simulation service was implemented that can depict sensor behavior and simulate a realistic yet stochastic telemetry stream in the form of synthetic sensor data
