Abstract
In the current mobile ecosystem of the Politecnico di Torino, the introduction of the new Faculty application alongside the existing Students app presents significant operational challenges. Maintaining two distinct applications within the same technical framework risks escalating costs and complexity, characterized by prolonged build times, fragile Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines, and redundant configurations. This thesis proposes a structural redesign of the codebase by transitioning to a monorepo architecture and implementing an Over-the-Air (OTA) update model. The work spans from a phase of architectural consolidation, formalizing the separation between shared logic and application-specific code, to the introduction of a dynamic distribution system through an Over-the-Air update flow — allowing app updates without traditional store releases — and the complete redesign of the CI/CD infrastructure to align with the new structural architecture..
