Development of a Dymola Suspension Model Validation Framework for Vehicle Simulation.

Abstract
The modelling and simulation of complex physical systems is a fundamental aspect of engineering design and analysis in motorsports where time and financial constraints make physical testing expensive. Since the simulation software used is commercially sourced and the model used inside is a black box, ensuring consistency between it and the in-house Dymola suspension model is essential for validating post-processed telemetry data reliably. This thesis was developed in the Vehicle Science and Simulation department of Visa Cash App Racing Bulls F1 team and focuses on expediting the development of suspension model in Dymola. The existing Functional Mock-Up Unit (FMU) based comparison approach was multi-step, difficult to use and required the model to be re-exported with every modification.
These limitations, with others, motivated the development of two complementary comparison tools, aimed at eliminating re-export overhead, streamlining and shortening the model validation workflow and providing meaningful diagnostic metrics
