An Augmented Reality-Based Approach for Improving Audit and Defect Management Efficiency in Meisterbock at Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A.
Rel. Gianfranco Genta. Politecnico di Torino, Corso di laurea magistrale in Automotive Engineering (Ingegneria Dell'Autoveicolo), 2026
Abstract
The present work investigates the Meisterbock validation process at Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A., where a significant portion of engineering effort is dedicated not to defect analysis itself, but to the management and documentation of information. Although the current workflow guarantees a high level of quality, it relies on a sequence of manual operations that separate defect identification, data collection, and report generation. This structure leads to a considerable amount of time spent on low-added-value activities, particularly in the preparation of documentation, which can require several hours for a single component. Starting from this observation, the work explores the possibility of improving process efficiency through the integration of augmented reality.
The objective is to move from a fragmented workflow to a more integrated approach, where defect identification and documentation are performed simultaneously
