Abstract
Nowadays, the importance of accuracy, reliability and energy efficiency is increasing in most of vehicle sectors, including off-road applications. This process is speeding the development of advanced systems, in particular this thesis work will focus on the steering systems and new prospective regarding their structure and management. Above all, electro-hydraulic steering architecture represents a potential solution leading to the integration of new electronic control functions and autonomous driving features. This thesis work started from a first review of electro-hydraulic steering system for off-road vehicles, focusing on the structure, operating principle and main components of the solutions found in scientific literature, academic research and industrial implementations.
Furthermore, is provided a basic overview of the control strategies that could be used in such systems to optimize the functioning
