Abstract
This thesis develops a citizen-facing platform prototype for Renewable Energy Communities (RECs). Existing REC geoportals, dashboards and simulation tools can already support renewable-energy potential assessment, spatial analysis, techno-economic simulation and scenario comparison. However, their outputs are often expressed through technical indicators such as self-consumption, self-sufficiency, renewable-energy coverage, energy surplus, installed capacity and carbon-emission reduction. These indicators are useful for planners and technical stakeholders, but they are not always directly understandable for ordinary citizens. The thesis addresses this gap by establishing a translation workflow from REC technical indicators to citizen-facing platform outputs. It uses the 58 indicators proposed by Mutani, Santantonio and Goulias (2020) as the source indicator framework.
Each indicator is assessed according to data availability and current calculability, using available datasets, scripts, database fields and official sources
