Abstract
The digital transformation of underground infrastructure represents one of the most significant challenges in modern civil engineering. While Building Information Modeling (BIM) has become standard practice during the design phase of megaprojects, its dynamic application during the construction phase remains severely limited. In conventional tunneling methods, daily as-built data, such as face mapping reports, Rock Mass Rating (RMR), and water inflows, are frequently trapped in unstructured formats (static PDFs or isolated spreadsheets). This fragmentation creates isolated “data silos,” preventing real-time spatial analysis and proactive decision-making regarding construction time and costs. This thesis proposes a fully automated, “Closed-Loop” parametric workflow designed to bridge the gap between raw construction data and dynamic 3D/4D BIM environments.
