Abstract
The transition toward a fully renewable energy system requires not only clean generation but also the ability to store energy and deliver it on demand, overcoming the mismatch between the intermittent availability of renewable sources and the continuous needs of the end users. Within this context, the objective of this thesis is to design and analyse an integrated solar plant able to supply electricity, heating and cooling to a residential district located in the area of Seville, in southern Spain, entirely from solar energy and in a fully dispatchable way. The proposed plant is a polygeneration system built around three sections operating in synergy.
The first is a concentrated solar power (CSP) plant of the central-receiver type, in which a field of heliostats concentrates direct solar radiation onto a tower-mounted receiver to produce high-temperature heat
