Solid Oxide Fuel Cells represent a promising technology for high-efficiency distributed power generation, due to their fuel flexibility and ability to operate with different gaseous fuels. In this work, the performance of a commercial SOFC system operating with natural gas and natural gas/hydrogen blends is investigated through an experimental, modelling and techno-economic approach. The study is developed within the framework of the TULIPS project, which aims to demonstrate real-life green airport innovations and to support the decarbonisation of airport infrastructures. The SOFC system considered in this work is installed at Torino Airport and is part of the project activities related to green energy solutions for airport decarbonisation.
