Abstract
Digital transformation in industrial companies is increasingly extending beyond manufacturing, involving downstream activities such as aftersales, service operations, technical support, software updates, and lifecycle-based service management. In the automotive and powertrain industry, this evolution is particularly relevant because products remain technically complex, safety-critical, and supported through distributed service networks. This thesis evaluates the operational readiness of MyFPT App, a digital solution developed within the Customer Service and Digital area of FPT Industrial, with specific focus on the SmartEngine functionalities. The solution enables authorized users to perform software and calibration-related updates on Engine Control Units (ECUs) through a mobile application, a diagnostic dongle, backend authorization mechanisms, and dedicated technical infrastructure.
The research adopts a qualitative case study approach based on internal project documentation, the official MyFPT SmartEngine user manual, SmartEngine process documentation, Azure DevOps issue-tracking records, Customer and Product Support dashboard data, and direct involvement in the project as a facilitator
