Abstract
Artificial Intelligence is progressively integrating into everyday professional life, transforming how organizations manage information, make decisions, and execute work processes. In Project Management, AI tools are now used or considered for various activities, such as reporting, documentation, meeting transcription, planning, risk analysis, data processing, decision support, and communication. These technologies can help project managers to reduce the time allocated to repetitive and administrative tasks, enhance access to information, and support more efficient project execution. However, AI adoption in Project Management is not solely a technological or operational matter. It also raises significant questions concerning the evolving role of the project manager, the skills that will become more relevant in the future, and the potential risks associated with human professionals relying on AI-generated outputs.
This thesis explores the adoption of Artificial Intelligence in Project Management, with a particular emphasis on its limitations, challenges, risks, and its cognitive, professional, ethical, and governance-related implications
