In this dark moment of the Palestinian history, this research is an open reflection on the dramatic effects of the conflict in the Gaza Strip, with a focus on its healthcare facilities and recovery issues. As a dynamic and evolving case, this region was selected as a challenge for testing source management and interpretation capacities. At the same time, the focus on Al-Shifa Medical Complex came from the "Reconstruction of Gaza Award" competition by the Platform of Reconstruction of Gaza (PROG), calling for design ideas and recovery scenarios. However, ethical and practical concerns about designing in such a complex and uncertain context resulted in a shift from joining the competition to broader and deeper investigations.
