Abstract
Traditional villages within Guangzhou’s administrative area possess distinctive Lingnan water-town characteristics and a profound Guangfu cultural heritage, serving as important spatial carriers for the Rural Revitalization Strategy and the “Hundred-Thousand-Million Project”. However, in the context of cultural tourism integration, these villages commonly face practical challenges such as poor connectivity between core attractions, fragmented visitor routes, lack of non-motorized traffic experience, and insufficient spatial vitality. Therefore, it is necessary to adopt scientific renewal strategies to integrate fragmented cultural tourism resources, activate the vitality of public spaces, and promote the sustainable development of cultural tourism villages.Accordingly, this study adopts catalyst theory as its analytical framework, considering the non-motorized corridors as a public spatial system that integrates various spatial elements.
It explores the application of catalyst theory to the design of cultural and tourism-oriented village spaces, and conducts an empirical study taking Zini Village in Panyu District, Guangzhou, as a case study
