Abstract
Pedestrian wind environment in high-density coastal districts is directly linked to public-space safety and livability. Under the frequent impact of typhoons and strong gusts, high-rise, high-density developments easily induce venturi effects, corner flows and downwash, which amplify local wind speeds and seriously threaten pedestrian safety. Existing assessments mainly focus on macro-scale meteorology and still lack rapid screening tools to identify micro-scale morphological hazards at the design stage. Although traditional CFD simulations offer high accuracy, their heavy computational cost and long turnaround time make them unsuitable for fast design iteration. To address this gap, this study constructs a rapid assessment model based on urban morphological parameters, aiming to quantify the coupling between spatial form and pedestrian-level wind speed and to provide efficient decision support for climate-responsive design.
