Abstract
Construction continues to record fatality and serious injury rates that other industries reduced decades ago. The persistence of this gap is not simply a matter of inadequate regulation or insufficient worker awareness. It reflects a deeper problem: the management tools in widespread use were not designed for environments where the hazard profile changes daily, where dozens of contractors share the same physical space, and where the gap between a developing risk and a serious incident can be measured in minutes. This thesis examines whether the integration of unmanned aerial vehicles, Internet of Things sensor networks, and artificial intelligence can address that structural limitation.
A systematic literature review, conducted under the PRISMA 2020 protocol and covering 73 studies selected from an initial corpus of 1,242 records across five major databases, provided the evidential foundation
