Abstract
Cancer is one of the leading causes of death around the world; the treatments are developing fast but there are still many problems in the industries. One of the biggest issues is the cost and the lengthy timelines of the drug discovery process. This work is part of a bigger project that aims to simplify and speed up the drug screening phase, through the implementation of enzymatic biosensors as an alternative to conventional in-vitro testing. In some tumours the Warburg effect is central, it shifts the normal aerobic respiration of the cell to the aerobic glycolysis, in which LDH reduces the pyruvate to lactate.
For this reason, LDH metabolism is considered as a target in both treatment and prevention
