Abstract
As industrialized nations intensify their efforts toward decarbonization, hydrogen is increasingly recognized as a key enabler, particularly for sectors where electrification is challenging. Green hydrogen, produced through water electrolysis powered by renewable energy sources, has emerged as a central focus of research and development. Among the available electrolysis technologies, Anion Exchange Membrane (AEM) electrolyzers represent the most recent advancement, offering potential benefits in terms of material costs and system integration. This thesis is part of the Artificial Leaf project developed by Green Independence, which aims to establish a fully off-grid hydrogen production unit by integrating a photovoltaic panel, water management system, and an AEM electrolyzer.
The objective is to enable decentralized hydrogen generation, independent of both electrical and water infrastructure
