Abstract
EDLC Supercapacitors technologies and characterization for ATE based models The characterization and testing of supercapacitors are essential to ensure their reliable operation within real application environments. Supply boards used across numerous industrial sectors frequently incorporate one or more Electric Double-Layer Capacitors (EDLCs). In this context, Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) developed by SPEA can emulate the behavior of galvanostats and potentiostats—instrumentation commonly employed in laboratory grade supercapacitor characterization. This capability enables the transfer of advanced electrochemical testing methodologies from research settings into high throughput industrial environments. Manufacturers provide datasheets and specifications defining the electrical parameters that ultracapacitors must satisfy to pass qualification tests.
Based on these requirements, ATE platforms can generate controlled electrical stimuli and verify the compliance of each Device Under Test (DUT)
