Abstract
Over the past 30 years, fiber lasers have become the dominant power source for material processing applications. In this context, blue laser diodes are gaining increasing attention due to their higher absorption in highly reflective metals, improved energy efficiency, and the ability to achieve smaller focused spot sizes at shorter wavelengths. As the electrification transition accelerates and the demand for processing materials such as gold, copper, and aluminum continues to grow, advanced automation systems and optimized optical designs for blue laser diode modules are required. This thesis focuses on the automation of procedures for the development of an innovative optical delivery system for blue laser diode modules, as well as on the design of the system itself.
Automation codes were developed for evaluating the Beam Quality Factor (i.e., the so-called M^2 parameter) and for controlling and monitoring laser output power
