Rel. Danilo Pesce, Matteo Tubiana. Politecnico di Torino, Corso di laurea magistrale in Ingegneria Gestionale (Engineering And Management), 2026
Abstract
This thesis investigates the strategic and organizational implications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption within the Italian business ecosystem, exploring how firms translate technological potential into concrete value. While the theoretical promise of AI is well-established, the transition from pilot projects to scalable industrial applications remains a significant challenge for many organizations. This research aims to identify the structural and managerial determinants that facilitate this transition, with a particular focus on the alignment between corporate strategy and technological governance. The study adopts a qualitative research design rooted in a two-stage methodology. A preliminary survey of 15 companies provided an overview of the current state of AI maturity in Italy, highlighting diverse adoption patterns and readiness levels.
This initial mapping informed the selection of cases for the primary investigation: a multiple case study analysis based on semi-structured interviews with key decision-makers
