Understanding the Italian incubator and accelerator landscape: a data-driven analysis, with a focus on the financial part.
Rel. Paolo Landoni, Stefano Richeri. Politecnico di Torino, Corso di laurea magistrale in Ingegneria Gestionale (Engineering And Management), 2026
Abstract
Business incubators and accelerators have become increasingly relevant actors within entrepreneurial ecosystems, supporting early-stage ventures through structured programs, mentoring, networking, and access to financial resources. In a context of continuous evolution, understanding how these organizations are currently structured and financed is essential to interpret broader trends in the entrepreneurial landscape. This thesis presents a descriptive empirical analysis conducted in collaboration with Social Innovation Monitor (SIM) and based on the responses collected through the 2024 SIM survey. The research examines Italian incubators and accelerators that participated in the 2024 questionnaire, using the collected data to outline the main characteristics of the ecosystem.
Where available, survey information is complemented with financial data from the AIDA database
