Abstract
The thesis investigates static and dynamic approaches for accounting biogenic CO2 in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), applying the methodology to a wooden window produced by an Italian manufacturer. A cradle-to-grave LCA compliant with EN 15804 requirements was first conducted to quantify environmental impacts and static biogenic carbon indicators. Then a dynamic LCA was implemented to evaluate the temporal behaviour of biogenic CO2. Results highlight significant differences between static and dynamic indicators, demonstrating the influence of carbon storage duration and emission timing on climate impact assessment.
