Abstract
Ground-coupled heat pump systems are increasingly adopted as a low-carbon solution to reduce building operational energy demand and associated greenhouse gas emissions. Energy geostructures represent an innovative approach in which underground structural elements operate simultaneously as load-bearing components and ground heat exchangers. This thesis investigates the monitored performance of two underground energy geostructures: a basement foundation slab and a wall in contact with the surrounding soil installed in the ARV Hub building and connected to a controlled heat pump system. The main objective of this research is to evaluate the thermal performance of the building by using the real operational monitoring data.
The analysis focuses on three main circuits: the geothermal loop (GTM), the slab circuit (FLR), and the user circuit (USR), which represents the building distribution loop
