Abstract
Mapping the Space, An Experimental Study and Methodological Documentation of Torino’s Olympic District, Ex-MOI Neighborhood Urban environments are conceived with specific intentions, embedding assumptions about use, sociability, and collective life. However, once built and inhabited, these spaces often evolve in ways that diverge from their original design goals. This thesis explores the relationship between designed intentions and lived realities through the case study of the former Olympic Village of Turin, currently known as the Ex-MOI neighborhood. Originally constructed to host athletes during the 2006 Winter Olympic Games, the area was later envisioned as a permeable residential district with a strong public character.
Over time, however, the site has undergone significant transformations, accommodating functions and social groups not initially anticipated
