Transition towards Industry 5.0: the case of G.E.I. S.p.A.
Rel. Giulia Bruno. Politecnico di Torino, Corso di laurea magistrale in Ingegneria Gestionale (Engineering And Management), 2025
Abstract
In an era of increasing robotization, the role of autonomous machinery in shaping and driving manufacturing systems within the framework of Industry 4.0 and the emerging paradigm of Industry 5.0 has become ever more significant. Robotics is revolutionizing traditional industrial environments, enabling greater automation, efficiency, and adaptability. The objective of this thesis is to explore the impact of robotic automation on conventional manufacturing systems and to analyse the benefits associated with the integration of information systems and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs). Specifically, it examines how these advanced technologies contribute to optimizing operational efficiency, reducing energy consumption, and enhancing risk assessment strategies.
