Abstract:

This thesis introduces a custom-designed accessory for conducting friction tests on axial bearings with a pin-on-disc tribometer. The accessory replicates real-world operating conditions to deliver precise data on friction coefficients and lubricant effectiveness. Key design efforts centered on creating a structure that seamlessly integrates with the tribometer, replacing the standard support with a tailored setup for secure bearing placement. Using SolidWorks, the accessory was meticulously modeled to ensure optimal force distribution, precise alignment, and reliable, repeatable test outcomes.
