Abstract
Designing grid-connected converters like Active Front Ends or Active Power Filters is a complex task due to the large number of variables involved and the extensive range of solutions proposed in the literature, making it challenging to identify an effective starting point. This thesis introduces a simulation-based tool developed to address these challenges. The tool enables evaluation and comparison of a wide range of converter configurations, assessing each for efficiency, cost, and size. By ranking these configurations, the tool provides valuable informations for feasibility studies, supporting designers in the initial stages of product development.
