Jet Grouting: analysis of execution methods and verification of design parameters on site.

Rel. Daniele Martinelli, Fabio Manzone. Politecnico di Torino, Corso di laurea magistrale in Ingegneria Edile, 2024

Abstract:

Jet grouting, a soil consolidation technique using high-pressure injection of a cement mixture, offers an efficient solution in complex excavation projects. This thesis investigates the methods of execution and monitoring of the design parameters of jet grouting, with a focus on on-site control measures and spoil management. The main operational controls, essential to verify the correct execution of the treatment, are analysed to optimise the productivity and effectiveness of the intervention. Using data from a specific case study located in Florence, this work examines the timing, quality of materials and in-situ tests, evaluating the influence of operational parameters on the correct execution of the consolidated soil block, providing a practical tool for the management of an urban jet grouting site.
