INFRA-BIM (Maintenance of Tunnel).
Rel. Anna Osello, Nicola Rimella. Politecnico di Torino, Master of science program in Building Engineering, 2024
Abstract
In today's world, infrastructure plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of society, making its maintenance essential for prolonged utilization. This thesis focuses on leveraging Digital Twin technology for the maintenance and monitoring of InfraBIM, with the aim of preparing infrastructure—specifically tunnels—for unexpected events that may arise as their lifespan increases. The research involves the collection of diverse data, including point cloud scans of the tunnel, which are then used to create a detailed model using Revit and Visual Programming Language (VPL) tools like Dynamo. Additionally, sensors are employed to gather real-time data on the tunnel’s condition, allowing for the early detection of any defects.
To efficiently manage the Digital Twin, Tandem Autodesk is utilized, with data being sent from Postman to Tandem for real-time analysis
