Abstract
Amid the industrial prosperity of the 1970s and 1980s followed by the decline of the 1990s, further exacerbated by recent global upheavals such as the pandemic, several areas of Turin succumbed to abandonment. Many of these neglected areas are located adjacent to the picturesque Po and Dora rivers, representing untapped potential and offering little value to the surrounding neighborhoods. This thesis proposes a global urban renewal initiative focused on the “Parco Pietro Colletta” and the neighbouring lots of the “Parco della Confluence” and the “Parco del Meisin” in the northeast of Turin. The main urban design goal is to revitalize these spaces, improving the quality of local life and unlocking new tourist attractions.
Central to this vision is exploiting the unique confluence of the Po, Dora and Stura di Lanzo rivers to create an engaging environment for both residents and visitors
