| Abstract: |
Sustainable Improvements to social rural housingThe current investigation suggests a solution by employing an LCA “Life Cycle Assessment” in the approach to prototypes for the social rural housing context in Colombia. It evaluates the LCA as a tool in the decision-making process of modifications to different prototypes and proposes a holistic evaluation of different parameters that range from environmental impact, user comfort, local weather information and project localization which aid the analysis and showcases the potential for economic and quality of life improvements for said projects. It adresses main issues that arise from the social rural housing context that range from contamination of the environment, poor living conditions of its users, and difficulties of construction in remote areas. All while evaluating the implementation of building technologies such as lightweight construction opaque panels and rammed earth walls; under said parameters. in Colombia |
