Abstract
The rise of mega constellations in satellite communication has sparked significant interest and debate in the telecommunications industry. This work conducts a comparative analysis of satellite communication systems within the context of mega constellations. Telecommunication networks are complex systems in terms of design, development, management, and maintenance, particularly when composed of diverse technologies and standards across multiple segments with shared resources. Addressing this complexity involves the creation of suitable networking models and the use of simulation and emulation tools. Various simulators and emulators are explored . Through an the review of papers and detailed case studies, it evaluates different tools followed by description of the results and analysis of the scalability of MATLAB satellite simulation tools in terms of time and memory..
