Relationships between the supply chain and order lead times for an apparel company.
Rel. Giulio Mangano. Politecnico di Torino, Corso di laurea magistrale in Ingegneria Gestionale (Engineering And Management), 2024
Abstract: |
The pandemic and recent wars have exposed firms in global value chains to unprecedented disruptions and risks. These have highlighted the focal role that distance plays in the supply chains of global companies, especially those of textiles and apparel. These companies, having usually relocated their productive sites abroad, now are keen to understand if a possible reshoring may be the solution to avoid uncertainty relating to order’s lead time, analysing the correlation, if present, with distance. This theme has been examined by analysing data collected from an European apparel firm, implementing an ANOVA and linear regression analysis, verifying a clear correlation between distance and lead time, so allowing to look over to possible solutions. |
