Rel. Luca Mastrogiacomo. Politecnico di Torino, Corso di laurea magistrale in Ingegneria Gestionale (Engineering And Management), 2024
Abstract
The following work was developed in collaboration with Maserati, a company symbol of Italian automotive manufacturing excellence, in the domain of supply chain and capacity management. As environmental concerns, technological advancements and stringent regulatory requirements from governments and institutions drive the automotive sector towards sustainability, understanding the Supply Chain Management and End Of Production processes becomes imperative for luxury car manufacturers. This study delves into Maserati’s historical evolution, supply chain intricacies, and the strategic management of product lifecycle termination, exemplified through the discontinuation of the Ghibli and Quattroporte models. Through qualitative and quantitative analyses, including a comprehensive review of Maserati’s supply chain flows, the thesis outlines the critical role of integrated SCM in enhancing operational efficiency and responsiveness to market changes.
Furthermore, it presents a detailed methodology for conducting liability analysis during the EOP phase, emphasizing the importance of effectively managing supplier relations and inventory to mitigate financial risks and environmental impacts
