Abstract
In recent decades the climate emergency has become increasingly urgent and heartfelt. Governments, driven by social pressure, have begun to plan interventions to reduce the impact on their countries' economies. Following these initiatives numerous companies have moved to reduce their environmental impact. Seeking to achieve these ambitious results, companies are relying heavily on innovation and the development of new technologies. In this context, there is carbon finance, which involves the movement of credits sold and traded among various entities with the goal of incentivizing investment in greener companies and absorbing carbon. Taking over to support this new market is blockchain technology.
Born a few decades ago, this technology allows data to be managed and stored securely, immutably and transparently
