Abstract:

In the automotive industry, the pursuit of world-class quality is not only a goal, but a fundamental necessity to ensure reliability, efficiency and consumer satisfaction. This thesis project undertakes to explain the importance of continuous product quality improvement within a manufacturing company. This objective is achieved through a well-structured problem-solving process whenever an issue is detected on a product yet to be launched or that is already in service. For this reason, in today's industry, within the central quality department, the continuous monitoring of KPIs is crucial to detect certain deviations that could jeopardize customer satisfaction. The case study on which the focus is placed is the entire problem-solving process on a specific issue: Misfire Error on the F1C NG engine. The objective of this work is to carefully analyze the methodologies used to identify the issue, search for the root cause and evaluate a suitable solution, emphasizing the importance of inter-functional collaboration throughout the entire process.
