Strategic evaluation of Batteries management leveraging After Sales network.
Rel. Giovanni Zenezini, Giulio Mangano. Politecnico di Torino, Master of science program in Engineering And Management, 2023
Abstract
Electric vehicles (EVs) have been a part of history for more than a century, but only since the late 1990s real development for mass production has begun. This technological development was born out of the need to achieve a greater degree of environmental sustainability in the transportation sector. This has not only involved cars and the passenger transport sector in general but has also moved the industrial vehicle sector in the same research direction. Over these years, many problems have arisen regarding EVs, some of which have been solved while others are still in the process of resolution. One of these problems is the management of EV batteries once they have reached the end of their useful life.
The EU Battery Regulation Directive issued by the European Commission (effective July 12, 2023), in continuity with the previous regulation 2006/66/EC, stipulates that every battery manufacturer responds to the principle of Extended Responsibility and must think about the end of life of its product
