Abstract: |
Art has always been a mirror of society and people, the growing global awareness on environmental sustainability issues has led many artists to address the issue through their works. At the same time, Digital Art has had great development and advancement in the techniques and concepts covered, especially due to breakthroughs in the use of Artificial Intelligence and Generative Art. The project was implemented in the context of a curricular internship at the start-up Mobyforall, a company that provides innovative integrated technology solutions to public and private operators with a data-driven approach. In this thesis, a research is carried out on artists engaged in the theme of environmental sustainability, their techniques, and the issues they deal with in their quest to make an impact on society. Research is also conducted on Digital Art, describing some of its forms, mechanisms and techniques used. The main objective is the development of an art project to support public awareness and information on issues related to environmental sustainability and pollution. Various tools and techniques were used for data collection, processing and visualization, starting with the Air Quality Index, moving through Python programming and arriving at TouchDesigner visual programming software and Plutchik's Wheel of Emotions theory. The end result is a video product that collects real-time data on air pollution and modifies an abstract generative graphic visual based on the emotion-related colors of Plutchik's Wheel of Emotions. |
