Hydromechanical impact of CO2 mineralization in basaltic rock.
Rel. Francesca Verga. Politecnico di Torino, Master of science program in Environmental And Land Engineering, 2023
Abstract
Greenhouse gases are the cause of global warming which is provocating climate change. Billion of tonnes of GHGs were been emitted and more will be emitted. The carbon cycle of this planet is no longer able to absorb and store the human carbon footprint, actually, we are taking huge amounts of carbon from the underground and spreading it in the atmosphere as never before. To restrict the effect of climate change and to stop the warming of the Earth negative emission technologies are needed. The IPCC states that carbon absorption and storage is how we might avoid further temperature rises. The challenges of the CCS are capturing and storage.
The second one is the most delicate aspect because it concerns finding a permanent way to place this large amount of volume of gas present in the atmosphere
