Abstract: |
This thesis aims to assess the feasibility of smallsat SAR constellations for rapid damage mapping in the context of the 2023 Turkey Earthquake. Specifically, this study will explore the technical and operational challenges of employing smallsat SAR constellation for disaster monitoring, as well as the potential benefits of such a system in terms of response time, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness. Through a combination of theoretical analysis and computer simulations, we will evaluate the technical requirements and limitations of smallsat SAR constellations for post-earthquake reconnaissance missions. By providing a comprehensive assessment of the feasibility of smallsat SAR constellations for disaster response, this thesis seeks to contribute to the growing body of literature on innovative approaches to Earth observation missions. |
