Abstract
This paper presents a novel IoT device designed to dynamically regulate the oxygen flow based on the Sp02 level of the patient. The device uses a combination of hardware, which include: “flow valve, stepper motor, motor driver, magnetic encoder, OLED screen and an oximeter” and software ranging from communication protocols to algorithms. The algorithms were tuned and perfected through multiple set of tests. We evaluated the performance of the device using two main KPIs: MSE: (Median Squared Error) of the values outside the expected range. Oxygen flow changes. The results showed that the device was able to regulate the oxygen flow to the patient and maintain its saturation within the given boundaries.
The device also outperforms the current methods of regulation which requires human intervention
