Abstract
The Italian chocolate market is an ever-expanding industry that has been growing steadily over the past decade. Italy produces some of the finest quality chocolate in the world and the industry has become a major source of revenue for the country. This thesis aims to examine the current state of the Italian chocolate market and its future prospects. It starts with a brief introduction to the history of chocolate, the discovery of the plant in Latin America, its importation as cocoa, its processing and then its distribution as chocolate. Subsequently the research explores various aspects of the market, including production, consumption, pricing, and trends.
