Abstract:

This paper is a non-research dissertation which is focused on collecting external research papers examining the relationships existing between Company Financial Performance and the chosen greenwashing strategy. It is structured with an introductory part which introduces the concept of greenwashing, examining the history of this concept and the wide theory behind it. The main section displays the research done by two main papers on this topic: Li et al (2022) Effects of greenwashing on financial performance: Moderation through local environmental regulation and media coverage” and Du et al (2014) “How does the marketplace view greenwashing? Evidence from China”. It is displayed the framework of the Chinese market (setting of both the papers) and then the main conclusions of the two papers is reported. A conclusion section is then included which highlights the difference in results of the two papers. A bibliography section then closes this paper.
