Abstract
In a constant increasing competitive market, all goods and services business must have efficient and adaptable logistics that provide a high level of customer service while generating as little waste as possible. Material storage system and distribution systems are the critical components of any logistics system, serving as link between producers and consumers. The role and importance of the warehouse system within the supply chain has shifted significantly over time, from being one of many links in the logistics chain to becoming a critical link to ensure that the logistics system is able to provide logistics service, defined in its broadest sense as the ability to make the right product available in the right place, at the right time, and at the right cost.
Within the logistics network, warehouses serve two functions: as a container for items kept in stock and as a transformer of incoming flows into outgoing flows
