The thesis is done in cooperation with IREN Ambiente, a business unit part of the IREN S.P.A group. IREN Ambiente is the society of the group that coordinates and manage the urban hygiene, the integrated waste cycle and the renewable energy systems controlling also more than 30 plants for the waste treatment. The managment of the urban hygiene and the waste collection is performed for the city of Torino, Vercelli and her 26 municipalities and for 119 municipalities present in Emilia Romagna in the provinces of Parma, Piacenza and Reggio Emilia. The services are performed for a total of 2,9 milions of inhabitants.
