Abstract
In this thesis, I’m going to describe my personal experience in the European Le Mans Series championship, more in detail in the LMP2 category with the team BHK Motorsport and the vehicle Oreca 07-Gibson. I had the opportunity to take part in this beautiful experience where I am still working as a mechanic and carbon fibre apprentice in the workshop and as a junior engineer during the races. These roles allowed me to try to understand as much as possible all the different facets of this world that many times are hidden and cannot be seen by following the racesas normal spectators.
More precisely, through this paper I will try to explain the championship I took part in with all the belonging categories, but above all give a theoretical knowledge about the motor vehicle design followed by the studies and analysis I took into account for our racing car related to the sensitivity to variations in different race circuits and conditions.
