Abstract:

It has been designed a structure to limit the shrinkage of welding. The product that has to be welded is a swing beam, which is a component of the railway bogie. They have been analysed all the joints of the part and than it has been designed the constraint structure taking into account shrinkage, position of welding and ergonomics. After the design, a FEM analysis was done to control the stresses on the constraint structure.
